Baraka Hosted Free Festive Activities for Families Over the Christmas Holiday
Over the Christmas holiday, Baraka Community Association held a number of events for local children and families.
Demand was high and priority for spaces was given to those most directly affected by last year’s Grenfell Tower tragedy in North Kensington.
First up was tenpin bowling in Acton, where the children showed the adults exactly how to get a strike, no spares…
Then there was a trip to the ‘indoor city’ known as Kidzania in Shepherds Bush Westfield to check out some of their potential future professions.
The holiday ended with a big community dinner at Canalside House. There was face painting for the children, movies for the teenagers and Somali food for everyone.
It was a great way to end 2017, and welcome in 2018, a year when Baraka will continue to work closely with the local community to promote educational excellence through hard work as well as providing a range of other services.
